Adrián Chair

Adrián Chair by Muebles Manuel. Photographer: Jeroen Laven

The Adrián Chair is designed by Muebles Manuel, an extension of Manuel Raeder’s graphic-design studio and publishing house BOM DIA BOA TARDE BOA NOITE. Muebles Manuel’s furniture explores the connections and boundaries between exhibitions, books, archives, and typography.

Designed by Raeder, the Adrián Chair consists of handmade woven-cane seat placed over an industrially-made monobloc plastic chair. To craft these, Raeder collaborates with the artisan Adrián López in Oaxaca, Mexico.

A set of Adrian Chairs, along with tables, book shelves, and other design elements furnish MELLY, the long-term and slowly changing exhibition in the re-imagined ground-floor gallery space of Witte de With. Witte de With has now teamed with Muebles Manuel to offer for sale original editions of Adrian Chairs. Proceeds from the sales are invested in education and public programs held in MELLY at Witte de With.

Sales orders are available now and until supplies last; delivery is expected in September 2018.

WDWXXV

WDWXXV, 2015

In 2015, Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art celebrated its quarter of a century milestone. Throughout the year, we dedicated our ground-floor gallery to a series of commissioned presentations; both established and emerging artists were invited to create work, responding in various ways to developments in contemporary art, its landscape and possibilities today, departing from Witte de With’s 25 year exhibition history. The result was In Light Of 25 Years, a compelling, large-scale light box which integrated the artists’ contributions as an image-based work that embodied Witte de With’s archive.

Our limited edition WDWXXV brings together the In Light Of 25 Years commissions. Presented in a slim Plexiglas box frame (20 x 80 cm), inspired by the light box itself, this limited edition portfolio features ten high quality prints which have been produced by the participating artists: Özlem Altin, Wineke Gartz, Camille Henrot, Germaine Kruip, Mahony, Raimundas Malašauskas, Zin Taylor, Freek Wambacq, and Xu Zhen.

The portfolio is a limited edition of 15, each accompanied by a signed certificate.
