What do we do with your personal data?

Stichting Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art (“Witte de With”), collects personal data of the visitors to our venue, and visitors to our websites, whilst undertaking our activities. Witte de With processes your data in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Our privacy policy explains what data we process, how we do that, and how you may object to the processing of your personal data. This privacy policy may be updated from time to time.

Witte de With processes personal data to sell tickets to the visitors of our exhibitions and/or public and educational programs.

Provided that you have registered, we may use your name and e-mail address to send a newsletter. You may always object to the further receipt of newsletters.

The processing of your data on Witte de With websites

The collection and use of your personal data on our website enables us to deliver our (web) services and communicate with you.

Trend analysis

We collect and use your personal data to identify where the visitors of our exhibitions reside. Therefore, for example, we also collect your (geographical) address details when you purchase an e-ticket. As far as possible, we analyze trends using the collected data, which do not identify on an individual basis.

We do not share your personal data with third parties outside of Witte de With unless one of the following circumstances applies:

We may share your personal data with third parties outside Witte de With when we have your explicit consent to do so. You have the right to withdraw this consent at all times.

For external processing by third parties engaged by Witte de With

Witte de With engages other parties to perform (part of) our activities. To the extent that these third parties need access to personal data to perform such activities, Witte de With has taken the appropriate contractual and organizational measures to ensure that your data is processed exclusively for the purposes specified in this privacy policy and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. We use the online ticketing system of Jewel Labs for the online sale of tickets. We use the services of Shopify for the online sale of publications. For legal reasons

We may share your personal data with third parties outside Witte de With if we have support to believe that access to, and use of, the personal data is reasonably necessary in order to:

  • protect the interests, properties and/or safety of Witte de With, our users, and the public in accordance with the law.

Storage period

Witte de With does not store your personal data longer than is legally permitted and necessary to serve the initial purposes for which it was collected. The storage period depends on the nature of the information and the purposes of processing. The maximum period may therefore vary per use.

Access, rectification and deleting of personal data

Witte de With offers you access to the personal data we process. This means you can contact us asking us to inform you about your personal data that we have collected and processed and the purposes such data are used for. If you believe we are holding inaccurate personal data, please contact us so we can correct the data. You may also ask us to delete your personal data from our systems.

You will receive a response in writing within 4 weeks.

We will comply with such request unless we have legitimate grounds upon which not delete the data. After the data has been deleted, the deletion of residual copies may not (always) take immediate effect in our active servers backup systems, but will be programmed to do so. We may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical efforts, have disproportionate technical consequences, risk the privacy of others, or which are an unreasonable burden for Witte de With.

We may charge you the mandatory maximum amount to cover the costs to comply with your request to access or rectification.

Right to object

You may object to certain use of your personal data if such data is processed for other purposes than necessary for the performance of our services or for compliance with a legal obligation. You may also object to any further processing of your personal data despite prior given consent.
