Do you have a queer voice that should be heard? And are you an artist using moving images and sound? If so, we would like to invite you to submit your short film (max. 30 minutes) before 16 March 2019. A selection of films will be screened on Friday 19 April 2019 at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art as part of Studium Witte de With’s Parallel Curriculum student-led program.

By hosting a screening, we want to develop a temporary space specifically for and by queer bodies to expand on the stories and voices of those artistically navigating what love, life and sexuality are and can be.

About Parallel Curriculum and the selection process

Studium Witte de With’s Parallel Curriculum is a peer-led education initiative by Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art. Each year, a select group of students collaborate across academic and creative disciplines to bridge different fields of knowledge in higher education, culminating the programming of student-led events.

The Class of ’19 includes: Maud Berden (Piet Zwart Institute), Rosa Elk (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Sander Hintzen (Stockholms Universitet), Jasmijn van der Linden (RASL Double Degree), Salvador Miranda (Piet Zwart Institute), and Adam Patterson (Piet Zwart Institute). The Soft Screening is led by Jasmijn van der Linden.

The final selection will be made by the members of Parallel Curriculum, alongside Angelica Falkeling, a Parallel Curriculum alumna as well as a member of Tender Center Rotterdam, contributing as advising mentor in The Soft Screening. You will hear back from us in due course after the submission deadline.

Submissions can be done either through WeTransfer or by sending in a Vimeo, Youtube, or other video link to: [email protected]. Deadline: 16 March 2019.
