With this role you will provide support to the curatorial and publications team across exhibitions, public programs and the production of Witte de With’s books and catalogues. The role is an active and multifaceted one ensuring experience of all aspects of exhibition research, production and delivery as well as an insight into creating publications from conception to print. 

Activities:

  • Provide research, documentation, communication and administration for exhibitions, and (public) programs.
  • Practical planning and production of all aspects of programming, which include:
  • Working with and assisting artists and senior curators prior to and during installation
  • Communication with the artists about practicalities (for example arrangement of travel and stay).
  • Practicalities around exhibition organization, such as loan forms, agreements with artists and galleries, coordination of transport etc.
  • Project communication, publicity and promotion activities (gathering images, editing texts, updating website etc)
  • Researching funding possibilities & writing funding applications together with Business Coordinator and curators.
  • Evaluations, reports and preparing invoices for funding applications
  • Assisting with the set-up of events, openings, fairs, symposia and panel discussions.
  • Editing, proof-reading, transcribing, and image researching for Witte de With publications.
  • Supporting the Director’s office.

Profile:

  • Actively engaged in contemporary art and its discourses
  • Some experience of exhibition making
  • Strong writing skills in English and Dutch
  • A university degree in relevant studies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Preferably living in Rotterdam

Timeframe:

Internships are 3-4 days a week for a continuous period of at least four months and a maximum of six months. Starting: mid October or later.
