De Stichting Verzameling van Wijngaarden-Boot was established in 1931 by mr. Van Wijngaarden, notary in Rotterdam, and his wife. Since 1984, the income from the capital of the foundation is used to increase and encourage artistic and cultural life in the city of Rotterdam.
