Biography waanja (Czech Republic, 1966)
waanja lives and works in Amsterdam. He studied history of art in the Czech Republic and has worked as a curator at the National Gallery in Prague. He has also directed the non-profit exhibition spaces Velryba and Starter&Sorter in Prague. He came to the Netherlands in 2003, where he works as a freelance curator and critic. In 2003 he organized various exhibitions in association with Ellen de Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam, for example the exhibitions of Maria Pask and Saskia Janssen in G99/House of Arts in Brno and of Otto Berchem in Galerie Display in Prague. In June 2004 he was appointed director of artists? initiative De Veemvloer in Amsterdam.
