Biography Christopher Phillips
Art critic Christopher Phillips is curator at the International Center of Photography, New York, and formerly senior editor of Art in America.
Phillips is the (co-)author or editor of numerous books and articles, a.o. Steichen at War (1981), The New Vision: Photography Between the World Wars (1989), Photography in the Modern Era: Documents and Critical Writings(1989); his articles were published in October, Art in America, Guggenheim Magazine, Plaszm. He was the curator of a.o. the travelling exhibitions Voices (Witte de With and other venues, 1998-99); Cosmos: From Romanticism to the Avant-Garde (Musee des Beaux-Arts, Montreal and other venues).
