Murray Gaylard

Born 1974 in Queenstown, South Africa. Lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.

Murray Gaylard studied Social Sciences at the University of Cape Town, South Africa; and Fine Art at the Städelschule in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany, where he was awarded a prize for outstanding achievement in 2008. Recent solo shows include There’s no place like home (or at least a place that resembles it), Nassauischer Kunstverein, Wiesbaden (2009). Recent group shows include New Frankfurt Internationals, Stories and Stages, Frankfurter Kunstverein; Functions of Drawing – Conceptual art on paper from the MMK collection, Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt-am-Main; Festival des Beaux Arts – a Michael Neff project, Galerie Sabine Knust & Pinakothek der Moderne Museum, Munich (all 2010); the Art Triennial in the Republic of Karelia, Russia (2009). His work features in the collections of the DekaBank and the Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt am Main.
