Marius Engh

Biography Marius Engh (Oslo, Norway, 1974)
Marius Engh lives and works in Berlin. His artistic practice includes sculpture, photography and painting, in which he appropriates, combines, and reconstructs objects from everyday life. His works often reference the aesthetic of Minimalism, using grids and cube-like structures. He is interested in the outcomes generated by the juxtaposition of objects from different contexts. Recent solo exhibitions include Marius Engh: Center of the World, Preus Museum Oslo (2009) and Marius Engh: Lyncanthropic Chamber, STANDARD, Oslo (2008). Recent group exhibitions include Street: Behind the cliché, Witte de With, Rotterdam (2006); Villa Jelmini, Kunsthalle Bern, Bern (2005); The Norwegian Sculpture Biennial, Vigeland Museum, Oslo (2006); and Skate Culture, Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen / Preus Museum, Horten (2006).
