Biography Honoré d’ O (Oudenaarde, Belgium, 1961)
Honoré d’ O lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. His sculptures, videos, and installations show the components and possibilities of various scenarios, in which he allows the public an active and often creative role. His installations are informed by the underlying meanings and connections which constantly merge from reality into art and vice versa. He has had solo exhibitions at the Museum voor Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen (MuHKA), Antwerp (2002, 2005), the Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2000) and Galerie Jan Mot, Brussels (2002, 2003). He has partiticipated in many group shows such as Feelgood Things, Mulier Mulier Gallery, Knokke-Heist (2008); Dots, Witte Zaal, Gent (2008); Pour l’été, Galerie Aline Vidal, Paris (2008); Who’s got the Big Picture?, MuHKA, Antwerp (2007); Aimez vous les cocktails VIP? , Galerie Nadja Vilenne, Liège (2007); Contour – 2nd Biennial for Video Art, Mechelen (2005); the 51st Venice Biennial, Venice (2005); and the Tapei Biennial, Tapei (2004). In 2001, his work was shown at Witte de With as part of the group exhibition Squatters 2.
