Biography Amir Balaban (Israel, 1964)
Amir Balaban lives in Jerusalem and New York.
Graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art, Photography Department, Jerusalem. Amir Balaban is the director of the Jerusalem Bird Observatory – Israel’s first official urban wildlife site – which he established in 1994 with Gidon Perlman in response to future development plans on one of Jerusalem’s most important bird-watching sites. Balaban works as a practicing wildlife artist and video photographer, specializing in fieldwork.
