K/Röntgenstraße 3 2005
The center remains empty. The audio piece in Dolby Surround (Kommunikationszentrum) is about a circle of people looking back and reminiscing about the place where they took their first steps in grassroots democracy thirty years previously. Their stories are recited by invisible speakers, in whose centre the past enters the present. At first glance, the series of portraits entitled Klaus Grochla seit 1987 (Klaus Grochla since 1987) seems to put faces to the different voices. More than this, it appears to give concrete form to the political formation that has disappeared at the vanishing point of memory. But this is not that kind of ?group portrait?: it shows the same person over and over, dissolving his singular identity in the historical perspective.

K/Röntgenstraße 3 consists of: a radio play in dolby surround Kommunikationszentrum, 2005; 20 color photographies Klaus Grochla seit 1987, 2005; and the projection of a slide in medium format Supermarkt, 2005
