Rossella Biscotti

Rossella Biscotti (1978, Molfetta, Italy) has been living and working between the Netherlands and her research sites for the past decade. The work of Rossella Biscotti focuses on particular individuals or events that, through their action or critical position, determine important social political changes in society. Her production interprets the sharing of stories, which have been banned or forgotten by our history; the artist is interested in the potentiality of these new narrations in the moment in which they start to circulate again within society.

Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Museion (Bolzano, 2015); WIELS (Brussels, 2014); Haus Esters (Krefeld, 2014); Secession (Vienna, 2013); De Vleeshal (Middelburg, 2012) and CAC, (Vilnius, 2012). She also participated in the Venice Biennial (Venice, 2013); Istanbul Biennial (Istanbul, 2013); Manifesta 9 (Genk, 2012) and dOCUMENTA 13 (Kassel, 2012). She won a wide range of prizes and stipends, among which the Mies van der Rohe Stipend in 2014 and the Premio Italia Arte Contemporanea (2010).
