Director
The Director of Witte de With is appointed by the Board, in principle for a period of six years. In succession, the directors Chris Dercon (1990 – 1995), Bartomeu Marí (1996-2001), and Catherine David (2002 – 2004), Hans Maarten van den Brink (interim director, May 2004 – April 2006), and Nicolaus Schafhausen (2006-2011) were given the opportunity to make their personal mark on the program. On January 1st 2012, Defne Ayas took up the post of director of Witte de With.
